  • CSS pseudo-elements :before and :after are read inconsistently by screen readers: some verbalise them, others do not. They should only be used for decorative visual content that is harmless if read aloud. Relevant content must never be added exclusively through these pseudo-elements.
  • Since 10 April, TOTHOMweb has been part of the Citizens' Agreement for an Inclusive Barcelona, a shared workspace between organisations and the City of Barcelona aimed at building a more inclusive and supportive city. The company works side by side with the council and other organisations.
  • HTML5 offers an accessible alternative to Flash for dynamic content, but browsers still have uneven support. The site html5accessibility.com regularly tracks the accessibility status of browsers for HTML5. Currently, Firefox for Windows and Safari for Mac are the most recommended options.
  • The WHO published 10 facts about people with disabilities. They form one of the world's most marginalised groups, with worse health, educational and economic outcomes. Disability is now considered a human rights issue that can be overcome through collaboration between governments, NGOs and families.
